G Jules | Simpcw First Nation
G Jules (They/Them) is a trans, two spirit multidisciplinary creator. Their mother, Sabina Jules, is a first generation immigrant from Kandersteg, Switzerland and their father, Stephen Bradley Jules, is Simpcw First Nation.
G completed their undergraduate studies on Secwepemc territory at Thompson Rivers University, earning them two diplomas (Digital Art & Design and Visual Arts) and a bachelor’s degree. (Graphic Design)
Being drawn to live by the ocean, G has been living on the land of the Lək̓ʷəŋən People, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, for the past four years.
Their artistic practice is informed by their interest in contemporary & retro pop culture and their personal journey of reconciliation with their indigeneity. They’ve also delved into performing arts; their Drag King persona, Gee Wiz, is an Indigipunk Wizard who’s reign of terror has only begun.
When they’re not working in the Aunty Collective shop, you’ll find G working on their latest project in whatever form or medium strikes their fancy at the moment.
